Under the resolution passed by the Hungarian Parliament in 2011, we celebrate the Day of the Hungarian language on 13 November commemorating the same day in 1844 when King Ferdinand V - bending to the demand of more than half a century of the Hungarian nation and reformers – adopted II preamble on the Hungarian language and nation, thereby making the Hungarian language official.

The principal task of the Institute for Hungarian Language Strategy is to raise awareness of social issues connected with the mother tongue and of tasks related to language planning in the whole Hungarian language area with the aim to protect and further develop the values of our language.
